You may recall that I mentioned in a previous Parish Newsletter that this year, 2023, is the 800th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi creating the first Christmas crib to commemorate the birth of the baby Jesus. St Francis used real animals - and a real baby! Whilst we will not have live animals or a genuine baby, we will mark this 800th anniversary year with an outdoor Stable and Nativity Scene. I hope to have it all completed and in place for the beginning of Advent. Once in place, my hope is that it will be lit up from when it gets dark and parishioners and families might bring their children and/or grandchildren to visit the baby Jesus.
