Social Supermarket

The national project The Bread and Butter Thing have been invited to use St Saviour as a base for the distribution of food, and the next steps are being taken to make this possible. There will be a training day for this new project on Monday 15 May at St Saviour from 12noon.

 

Please register for your place on this important training that will help us launch our branch of the Social Supermarket - alongside Stanney Community Centre and The Westminster Community Centre we now will have St Saviour Catholic Church as the third hub serving our town! If you cannot access the website, please contact the Parish Office and we can register you that way.

Launching Foodbank and Hot Meal Provision
I’ve pencilled in the weekend of 20/21 May to launch these important weekend initiatives! More to come, knowing it’s important to have a date to work towards but that there is a huge amount to do in preparation! Renewed thanks to the Order of Malta who have donated so much towards these efforts and who have also sent six boxes of donations for families this Easter holiday period: clothing, toiletries, even a little chocolate gift so that those in need can have an Easter treat!

Visit of the Companions of the Order of Malta

Hopefully in June, the vice-chairman of the Companions of the Order of Malta, Sir Charles Nicholson will be visiting the parish to see all of these new initiatives and to offer us some encouragement, advice, and support as we launch these schemes in aid of the whole community!
