Christmas

Where it all
started . . .

Our Social Events Committee began in September 2023 with our first event, a Quiz Night. Since then, we have taken on the organization of the Christmas Fair for both 2023 and 2024, receiving great feedback and seeing increasing success.

Our events have been family-focused, though we continue working on increasing family participation. The money raised has directly supported our parish, with £918 raised in 2023, more than doubling to £1,842 in 2024. A key highlight of 2024 was bringing the parish together for one of our most successful Christmas celebrations, as well as our TV and Film Night, which was so popular that we ran out of space in the church hall!

Beyond events, we are also working to improve the facilities in the parish centre. This effort has already begun with the installation of a projector and new stage lighting, with plans for a Wi-Fi installation in the near future.

Our mission remains to bring the parish closer together, and we are now expanding our activities, including organizing a Lent Walk. We are also looking to grow our membership and welcome anyone interested in helping us strengthen our parish community.

Last Time Out:
Wirral Walk

Saturday 12th April, a group of 32 dedicated parishioners from Ellesmere Port came together to complete a 12-mile sponsored walk along the Wirral Way, raising vital funds in support of our local Catholic churches in Ellesmere Port and Hooton.

The walk, which began at Hooton Station and finished in West Kirby, was a wonderful display of community spirit, faith, and determination. Along the way, walkers enjoyed beautiful views of the Wirral coastline, passed through local landmarks such as Hadlow Road and Parkgate.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of those who donated and sponsored the walkers, we have raised £1,155.93 so far. These funds will go directly towards supporting the parish’s mission, maintaining our church buildings, and helping us respond to the ongoing pastoral and practical challenges we face as a parish community.

We are so proud of everyone who took part and so grateful to all who have supported the walk in any way.
