I am delighted to share the news that the restored painting of our copy of Guido Reni’s The Annunciation is now displayed at St Mary of the Angels, Hooton. Found in a state of poor repair and some significant damage, I am grateful to Vanessa Andrews, a conservator and art specialist based on the Wirral who restored the painting, and our own Janis Smith who repaired the ornate frame. I was able to reframe and rehang the painting just before Palm Sunday. I will bless the newly restored painting on Monday 8 April at 7pm during a Mass for the (transferred) Solemnity of The Annunciation. All welcome.
